The Property
An intimate and friendly year-round resort, Topnotch offers a wide array of indoor and outdoor pursuits on a 120-acre estate at the foot of Mt. Mansfield, Vermont's highest peak. Renowned as one of the country’s top rated tennis academies, this four diamond property is equally celebrated for its full-service, award winning Spa and fitness center.

Topnotch is situated in the heart of the Green Mountains in Stowe, Vermont. The resort is five miles from Stowe Village on Route 108 (Mountain Road), 10 miles north of Exit 10 off I-89.

Transportation
Topnotch enjoys convenience from throughout the Northeast, with Boston just 3.5 hours, Hartford 4 hours and New York City 6.5 hours away by car. Nearby Burlington International Airport (a 45 minute drive) offers non-stop/direct service from across the U.S. via Jet Blue, Delta, Northwest, Continental, United, and U.S. Airways, while private planes can access neighboring Stowe/Morrisville Airport. There's an Amtrak train station 10 miles from the resort, and the "Vermonter" runs through it daily between Washington D.C. and Montreal.
Accommodations
Topnotch offers 68 guest rooms including 8 suites, all dressed up in European country manor style.
Spacious Deluxe Rooms are individually decorated with antiques and include full bath a choice of king or two double beds. Luxurious Executive Rooms are also individually decorated, with cathedral ceilings, full bath, choice of king bed or two double beds, and a twin pull-out sofa.
Spacious one-room Studio Suites include two queen beds, large sitting area, and twin pull-out sofa; Junior Suites come with king bed in the master bedroom, walkout living room, twin pull-out sofa; and two-room Garden Suites have a king bed in the master bedroom with private bath, full living room, queen hideaway bed and full bath.
A two-room Champlain Suite has a master bedroom with king bed and private bath, living room with fireplace, queen hideaway bed, full bath and efficiency kitchen. And at the top of Topnotch’s accommodations, the luxurious Governor’s Suite offers master bedroom with king bed and private bath, living room with fireplace, queen hideaway bed, full bath with deck and kitchen with microwave, stove, dishwasher, full-size refrigerator and breakfast nook. Dogs are permitted in select resort guest rooms and suites; smoking is not.

Resort Homes
Topnotch has 40 luxurious Resort Homes scattered across the property, all within a short walk of the hotel. Most of the two- and three-bedroom homes have panoramic views of Mt. Mansfield, and all offer the tranquility and privacy of a superbly outfitted residence. Topnotch’s Resort Homes are exceptional accommodations for families, friends and professional groups. Each home is impeccably furnished and tastefully appointed with contemporary and Vermont-style décor and art. Layouts include multiple full baths, full kitchen, living room with fireplace, dining room, patio, central air conditioning, gas heat and washer/dryer. Pets and smoking are not permitted in Resort Homes.

Reader's Choice Spa Poll. Topnotch Spa covers 35,000 square feet with 30 treatment rooms offering over 120 treatments, highlighting the use of indigenous Vermont oils and river rocks. Indulge in facial or body treatment such as the Decléor Aroma Relax Wrap or the June Jacobs Cucumber Green Tea Facial. Private men's and ladies lounges with steam, sauna, and whirlpools. Fitness Center
The Fitness Center at the Topnotch Spa showcases state-of-the-art exercise equipment, personal training and more. A Weight Training studio features Cybex circuit training equipment and free weights; a Cardiovascular Studio is equipped with programmable treadmills, Stairmasters, LifeCycles and Elliptical Cross-Trainers; and an Aerobics Studio features a suspended wooden floor, cathedral ceiling, wall-to-wall mirrors and inspirational views of mountainous Vermont just outside. Fitness programs are scheduled for all ability levels, along with group and personalized Yoga and Pilate's instruction.
Swimming
The inside Solarium, featuring a whirlpool, cascading waterfall massage, lap pool, sauna and steam rooms. A large heated indoor swimming pool is available year round, with a separate area for lap swimmers.
New in 2006, enjoy two outdoor heated swimming pools and hot tub. Swim or soak year round amidst the sparkling sky (or snow!). 86 lounge chairs surround the pool, to relax or dine poolside.
Recreation
Only 1.5 miles to Stowe Mountain. 120 acres of resort property to cross country ski, cycle, mountain bike, hike, or snowshoe. Fly fish the rivers, or take a canoe ride. On-property Equestrian offers lessons, and trail rides. Horse drawn carriage rides in the summer and horse drawn sleigh rides in winter. Offering on-site rentals of skis, bikes, in-line skates, and snoeshoes. Set a tee-time with priority golf provides at Country Club of Vermont. Minutes away from the quintessential town of Stowe.
Dining
The resort's signature restaurant, Norma's is a lively bistro with an open kitchen. Locally grown organic ingredients infuse the menu. Offering a full flavor spa-cuisine. An extensive outdoor patio offers you panoramic views of the mountains and artful fire displays as you dine. Norma's seats 65 inside and another 75 outdoors for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Indoors, an open kitchen invites you to watch the skills of the staff. Norma's casual alfresco dining area is adjacent to 86 lounge chairs surrounding the outdoor pools to relax and dine poolside.

The Buttertub
Decorated in a rustic, Vermont antique style, the Buttertub is the ideal setting for guests to relax and enjoy a coffee, tea, cappuccino or cocktail at Topnotch. With a full service bar, guests are able to order off the Norma's menu and catch the "big game" on the 42" plasma television.

Fact Sheet: Recreational Activities
Tennis Academy
Ranked number one in the Northeast and in the Top 10 in the country by Tennis magazine, Topnotch's Tennis Academy is headed by Milan Kubala and is staffed by 10 USTA-rated professionals. In modern facilities that feature 10 outdoor courts (Deco Turf II and Soft Har-Tru) and four indoor courts (Deco Turf II), the Academy offers year-round private lessons, clinics and camps, as well as various packages and programs. Videotape analysis of your game is available for teaching purposes. The pro shop features the latest tennis fashions and equipment and restringing services.
Skiing/Snowshoeing
Located in the ski capital of the East, Topnotch offers cross-country skiing and snowshoe trekking. Use of the 25 kilometers (15 miles) of groomed and natural trails that wind their ways through the rolling hills of Topnotch and the surrounding valley is complimentary for all guests. Intermediate trails connect to Stowe Mountain Resort and Edson Hill Touring Centers, making available an additional 100 kilometers (60 miles).
Topnotch is the only off-mountain location where lift tickets for the Stowe Ski area can be purchased. As the number one ski area in the Northeast, according to SKI and Skiing magazines, Stowe is known for offering the widest variety of terrain in Vermont for skiers of all levels.
The Nordic Barn, right on-site at the base of our entrance, provides tuning services, a wide variety of equipment rentals for all of the resort's activities as well as the latest sporting and Topnotch logo apparel.
Equestrian Center
The largest among area resorts, Topnotch's equestrian center features a full livery stable and offers private and group lessons as well as guided English and Western trail rides on the resort's 120 acres and surrounding hills.
Golf
Guests of Topnotch have access to the Stowe Country Club's premier 18-hole, par 72 golf course, located five minutes from the resort. In addition to its 6,213-yard course of contoured fairways and manicured greens, the championship facility features a practice area, driving range and putting green, and offers lessons and clinics. In addition, there are five, 18-hole championship golf courses within a 45-minute drive.
Hiking
Guided group and private hikes through the Green Mountains are available for all levels during the spring, summer and fall. Hikes travel through rocky summits to deep forests, cool streams and open pastures.
Running/Walking/Cycling/Mountain Biking/In-line Skating
A six-mile recreation path for running and walking begins at Topnotch and weaves through some of the most beautiful countryside in all of New England, along the West Branch River to Stowe Village.
An extensive network of paved and unpaved country roads, as well as paved, gravel and dirt trails, are available for cycling, mountain biking and in-line skating. Stowe's Recreation Path is accessible directly across from Topnotch.
Sleigh Rides
During the winter, guests may enjoy a winter sleigh ride across the resort's moonlit meadows.
Swimming
Our heated outdoor recreational pool offers incredible mountain views and year-round swimming is available in the resort's heated 60-foot indoor exercise/lap pool.
